How to ensure employees make the most of company benefits

Company benefits and perks are a way to keep staff engaged and have higher levels of job satisfaction – but are the staff fully aware of what the company offers?

It is not common for employees to miss out on great deals, rewards, or membership that can enhance their personal and work lives. Let’s find out what can be done to promote these thoughtful perks.

Highlight benefits regularly

Company e-mails, bulletins, intranet, or even newsletters – these are some of the established communicated channels every company has.

Why not give a bit of space to remind employees that being part of the company can provide them benefits at different merchants and outlets.

If not, HR can set up dedicated channels such as sports, health, childcare, or food for the staff to go directly to the perk they prefer.

Conduct regular surveys

Are the employees interested or not aware of the benefits? Survey the staff to find out. By gathering regular feedback, HR can provide and accommodate the diverse needs of the employees and better allocate the funds.

Other than finding out what the staff wants, surveys can also be used to track the usefulness of the benefits.

HR can tailor these surveys to understand why the perks were not utilised that could arise due to awareness, brand preference, location, or a lack of support from teammates or management.

Promote the benefits with management help

Management can sometimes be seen as celebrities and looked up to in companies. By having the top leaders use the benefits, it can encourage employees to tap into the perks as well.

If the company is trying to promote wellness, during meetings, the management and team leaders can play an active role to embody the objective and remind the staff to check out the information.
