Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for coordinating tenders with local / regional / global tender management teams and ensure that RFQs / RFIs from all customers are completed in a timely, consistent and professional manner

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for leading and coordinating RFQs / RFIs on medium to global accounts.
• Act as Project Manager of the assigned tender, facilitate and streamline the communication / process flow among different groups and functions within the organization: -

  • Coordinate with Global Account Managers / Directors / Vice Presidents in formulating strategies for RFQ, and conducting pre- and post-opportunity analysis
  • Liaise with Air and Ocean Product groups in defining the optimal solution (in terms of routing / capacity / consolidation mix), and derive the best pricing approach for each target account and key tender
  • Liaise with other Regional Tender Management units and country management teams in creating market-competitive price proposals for global and regional tenders
  • Work closely with stakeholders in reviewing terms and conditions of regional and global tenders
  • Interface with subject matter experts in IT, Legal, Procurements, Account Management, Vertical Industries and Trade Lane Development in creating and delivering compelling customer driven services and solutions.
  • Create / maintain databases and pricing tariffs for internal reference

• Prepare monthly reports and analysis for internal divisions
• Analyze rates for global to regional RFQs
• Updating global rates databases
• Maintain a win/loss log for all quotes and tenders globally
• Ensure tender post mortem is completed by business owner for lost accounts/ bids to determine reasons and determine change of action for future bids.
• Analyze tender results to determine trends which could increase win ratio for the company.
• Participate in customer meetings for large RFQ tenders as required.
• Provide training to regional TM/ sales support/ business owners on required TM processes.
• Communication of RFQ Pipeline and activity level on a regular basis
• Ensure smooth transition to Implementation team upon business award and assist on SOP setup specifically on rate aspect

 

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Process working

• Good analytical and mathematical skills
• Industry experience in the freight forwarding environment (minimum two years)
• Business administration / proposal writing

Educational background / Work experience

• At least 2 years of Tender Management related experience
• Relevant quoting/ pricing experience in freight forwarding
• Functional experience in air/ sea/ logistics / customs brokerage
