Cargo Operator (Heavy Distillates/ $5K - $10K basic/5 days/Central)


Job Description

Our client is a leading marine fuel logistics company.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospective lessees for discussion on their requirements
  • Negotiate commercial terms with prospective lessees.
  • Prepare storage agreement and go through clauses with counterparty
  • Interface with Operations / Shipping / Legal team for non-commercial clauses
  • Evaluate commercial risks / pitfalls in contract clauses
  • Work with Operations and Technical managers to clarify the loadable quantity
  • Subsequent interface with counterparty for any other issues (may be commercial/operations/technical)
  • Core functions for this role involves operating, ensuring fleet and cost optimisation by careful stowage and bunker planning and consumption analysis of each FSU.
  • Perform cargo transfer operations according to cargo transfer plan to ensure operations are carried out in a timely and efficient manner
  • Sending voyage instructions, handling disputes, for BL/cargo issues, laytime calculations, hire, variance analysis, ITT (inter tank transfer) calculation, throughput calculation and monthly closing of files.
  • Execute cargo transfer planning efficiently with FSU & Vessel Crew whilst ensuring accuracy of all paperwork
  • Manage the loading, transfer and discharge of all cargoes (ensure secure operation for the integrity of the cargo, both quantity and quality)
  • Manage all interfaces by communicating to all parties involved at every stage of cargo operation between Lessee, Ship mgmt, FSU and vessel
  • Perform checking of calculations for oil measurement and accounting to ensure no differences between FSU and Lessee
  • Conduct cargo inspections and monitoring of vessel operations throughout to ensure that all operations are compliant with the regulatory system and recognised industry codes of practice
  • Arrange supply of BOU (bunker own use)
  • Maintain necessary and accurate cargo transfer documentations (including full set of Bill of Lading documents, discharge certificate, time log, holding cert etc) and report to lessee and office dutifully

 

Requirements:

  • Min. Diploma in any discipline
  • Preferably 5-7 years of experience in oil cargo operations in a trading house/ oil major
  • Possess good team work, initiative, and meticulous and comfortable in less structured environment
  • Demonstrate good understanding of shipping and operations
