→ Leading Chemical MNC
→ Min. 5 years' product stewardship experience with Polymer/ Chemistry background
→ Experience with Regulatory, Government and Quality Agencies

Job Responsibilities:

Product Stewardship

  • Provide advice to company Oligomers business when changes in legislation impact the handling, use or disposal of products, additives, or raw materials. Evaluate, risk assess and communicate regulatory implications of changes.
  • Anticipate Product Stewardship issues and address them in the most cost-effective manner, communicating and coordinate activities to influence and inform government agencies, suppliers, customer, contract laboratories, co-producers, and appropriate trade associations.
  • Respond to customer product related Health, Safety & Environment information requests. Assess customer requests against regulatory compliance, commercial sensitivity and company standards for data security.
  • Understand, monitor and analyze current and developing chemical control legislation within Asia.

 

Regulatory Authority

  • Primary point of contact for government/ regulatory agencies.
  • Recognized internally as the regional regulatory authority.
  • Generates new ideas/ innovation while maintaining regional regulatory compliance and harmonization with global initiatives/ requirements.

 

Other responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the customer Safety Health Environmental (SHE) approval process for Asia region. Oversight of SAP protocols for customer material exclusions and order release via the Ship-To location audit process.
  • Packaging assessment and assurance of compliance to applicable regional requirements, regulations, and procedures
  • Responsible for Product Safety (MSDS authoring, distribution, labeling)
  • In-charge of Product Registration (Agency Reporting)
  • Ability to classify and determine the appropriate Harmonized Tariff Code and Duty rates for Oligomers Products.
  • Assists to resolve issues related to the products imported into and exported out of and within the Asia region.
  • Assists to provide guidance and resolutions to written export compliance program.

 


Job Requirement:

  • Min. Degree in Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering related discipline
  • Preferably 5 - 10 years' experience in similar role with Polymer/ Chemistry background, regulatory experience preferred
  • Experience in Multi-disciplinary company with regional experience
  • Experience with Regulatory, Government and/ or Quality Agencies
  • Possess project management skills
  • Specific knowledge of chemical control and product related legislation will be an advantage
  • Good communication skills in both oral and written
  • Cross cultural sensitivity, ability to work in a team
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to summarize
  • Self-starter, capability to take initiative in identifying and developing the job area
